Florida Rental Car Insurance
Under Florida law, you have the right to decline supplemental coverage offered by rental companies. Review your options and submit your opt-out acknowledgment below.
Florida Statute § 627.7263 — What It Means for You
Florida law requires rental car companies to offer — but cannot require — additional Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) or Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) coverage. If your personal auto insurance policy includes comprehensive and collision coverage, or if your credit card provides qualifying rental car protection, you may legally decline the rental company's supplemental coverage.
Right to Decline CDW/LDW
You may decline the Collision Damage Waiver and Loss Damage Waiver if you have existing coverage through your personal auto policy or credit card.
Full Disclosure Required
Florida law requires rental companies to fully disclose all coverage options and their costs before you sign any rental agreement.
Your Responsibility
By declining, you acknowledge that any damages not covered by your personal policy are your financial responsibility.
